Waking up super early means you will have a long day, you will be tired all day long and you will see the sunrise!!! Yes, the felling that the sun came up just around the corner to say “good morning” is the best part of day for me.

After that you are ready for everything. So we all started the clean up enthusiastically. We just needed to clean some rocks, pull out some weed and measure the position of first square in each field. Only four fields this season. Not too much work, right? But the weed was fearless, didn’t want to co-operate at all. And those few rocks were quite heavy. Luckily there are some amazingly strong, young, passionate people in our group. One by one field A was cleaned, then field B. But field C was more than we could ask for.

Thank God the big boss came back from the city with some delicious falafel sandwiches and fresh, sweet, juicy watermelon. Who doesn’t like the second breakfast? For some it is even better then the sunrise.

After that the work continued. Field C has visible remains of the city wall and under all those rocks there were being removed during the clean I spotted a little viper. Guess he was more scared of us so he got away under the big stone. Lucky for the snake the stone belongs to a wall so we left it there.

Finally field D was getting cleaned. Here of course they had to find a huge black spider. Since our group has mixed feelings. Some being terrified, some having spiders as pets, it was hard to decide whether to kill the little monster or to let it live. So they took him and moved him to a new home. I am just happy because I won’t be working near that place.
